Wyoming wolf plan subject of federal court hearing

Wyoming's lawsuit over its plan for managing wolves is the subject of a hearing before the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals today (Monday) in Salt Lake City.

Wyoming is appealing a federal judge's decision last year to dismiss Wyoming's lawsuit against the federal government. The state is suing over the U-S Fish and Wildlife Service's rejection of the state's plan for managing gray wolves.

The federal agency has raised concerns about Wyoming's proposal for managing wolves, including a provision in the plan that would classify wolves in part of the state as predators that could be killed on site with limited restrictions.
The agency has approved wolf management plans for Montana and Idaho.
